For players who still need to be issued equipment before the first week of practice. Upperclassmen (Soph / Jr / Sr) at 6:45 a.m., ahead of the 7:10 a.m. arrival time. Freshmen at 9:20 a.m., ahead of the 10:00 a.m. warm-up. Players already issued equipment do not need to come early.

Join the Mavs for a Community Night at Phil’s Ice House (183) on Tuesday, August 4, 4:00–8:00 PM. Mention McNeil Football at the register and a portion of your purchase supports the team — everyone in your party counts, so bring the whole family. An easy, delicious way to fuel the season.

Morningside Pool (Avery Ranch)
Join us for the 2026 Mavs Football Pool Party! All teams and families are welcome, and the Mavs coaching staff and booster club will be there. The booster club provides the main dishes, and if you're able, we'd love help with drinks, desserts, fruit and veggies, sides, and chips. Click the McNeil Mavs Pool Party link for directions and to sign up to attend (there's a food sign-up in the form too). Please make sure to pick your athlete up by 8:00 PM.

Soph / Jr / Sr intra-squad scrimmage closing out week 1. Arrival 6:45 a.m., warm-up begins on the field at 7:00 a.m., scrimmage 7:30-8:30 a.m. The freshman scrimmage follows at 9:00 a.m.
August 8 @ 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Freshman intra-squad scrimmage closing out week 1. Arrival 8:30 a.m., warm-up begins on the field at 8:45 a.m., scrimmage 9:00-10:00 a.m. The upperclassmen scrimmage runs earlier the same morning at 7:30 a.m.

Annual season-kickoff event introducing the 2026-27 Mavericks football team to the community. Player introductions, coach remarks, and food.

Team and individual photos for all three levels. Upperclassmen (Soph/Jr/Sr): 7:00 a.m. arrival, pictures complete by 8:00 a.m., film during Period 2. Freshmen: 8:00 a.m. arrival, pictures complete by 9:15 a.m., film after pictures if time permits. Photos are ordered from the school photographer's online gallery; the club does not process the charge.

Parents and guardians, help us get our Varsity Mavericks game-day ready by putting decals on your athlete's helmet. This is for all varsity athletes, ahead of the season opener at Austin Bowie the following night. Drop in any time in the hour. If you are staying for the JV game, it kicks off at 6:00 p.m. at Maverick Stadium, right as this wraps up.
