2008 College Recruiting Events The premier high school athletic testing event, the NIKE Combines are a great opportunity for top high school players who aspire to play on the next level to see where they stand with their peers and get unbiased testing numbers by respected professionals in the industry. Produced by Student Sports, which started the first high school football combine and camp events almost 20 years ago, these FREE combines will give any athlete an opportunity to showcase their skills for college coaches as well as for possible selection for the NIKE Football Training Camps held later in the spring. The NIKE Combines are open to rising seniors (graduating in 2009) and top underclassmen looking to showcase their skills to the football world. Players like Devin Hester, Haloti Ngata, Larry Fitzgerald and hundreds more have blown up into national recruits after standout showings at NIKE testing events and thousands more, like FSU signee Vince Williams in the Class of 2008, who received his first offer just two days after posting the top SPARQ Rating at last year's NIKE Combine in Orlando, have earned scholarships - you could be next this spring! Here are the upcoming dates for the 2008 Combines being hosted in Texas:
Cick here to register for these and other combine events. Athletes who are invited to the NIKE Football
Training Camp will register, where they will pick up their free NIKE Pro
workout shirt, and get their photo taken. After height and weight are
measured, the NIKE Football Training Camp is broken down into three
parts: The NIKE Camps are free and registration information is sent out to
top players/recruits who are in the Class of 2009. Players can be
recommended by their coach as a high level recruit to pre register for
the camp. If a recommendation is not possible then a player may send in
a 5 min. video highlight tape so he can be evaluated. A third way to get
registered is to test well at a NIKE Combine.
FBU was founded as an elite educational football camp, and will be using an invitation only policy as its guide to enrollment for the upcoming 2008 camp season. FBU is not a mini-camp for everyone but rather a camp aimed at a small and elite class of football athletes who have already demonstrated their elite football ability, their seriousness for football, and chosen football as their primary sport. The camp is an invite only camp for several reasons. Organizing the camp with similar talent makes for a better instructional setting, while the small class size provides a premium educational environment for all students. Second, most of our instructors provide private or group training so teaching in small groups is what they desire and are accustomed to. Finally, FBU in its second year simply cannot accommodate everyone who wants this high level training per region. The majority of the camps sold out last year and the invitational concept allows us to focus on the athletes who can best benefit from this high level training.
Invitation policy
- Any athlete can be considered for acceptance. A nomination
form must be completed. 2009 U.S. Army All American Junior Combine Five hundred of the nation’s top high school football underclassmen will again gather in San Antonio this January for the U.S. Army National Combine presented by Reebok.
